NZAP

New Zealand Association of Psychotherapists

NZAP is the national professional association of psychotherapists in New Zealand. We have an elected national council, branch committees and hold conferences, branch meetings and educational events for psychotherapists and people interested in psychotherapy. NZAP provides a home for psychotherapists and supports safe, ethical practice and education; professional development of psychotherapists and other related professionals; and support for people who practise psychotherapy. We maintain a register of our members that is accessible to the public.

As an organisation we have made a commitment to honour the Treaty of Waitangi and we have a partnership relationship with Waka Oranga, which provides support and a membership pathway for Maori psychotherapy practitioners.

From time to time we provide responses and reflections on public issues and events that concern psychotherapists and their clients such as mental health and social service policies and practices.
